About
Montrouge takes action against cancer! An event organised by the Montrouge association Le Papillon. October in Montrouge, or seeing the town through rose-tinted glasses. Literally. Shop windows, facades and public spaces join in and mobilise for a single cause: raising awareness about breast cancer screening, breaking the taboos surrounding the disease, and funding research. Behind this mobilisation is the Montrouge association Le Papillon. Its story is one of a legacy that became a collective fight. Armelle Le Guennec created the association when she fell ill. In 2020, she lost her battle against breast cancer. Her son Axel then took over the reins at the age of 18. Since then, he has brought around thirty volunteers alongside him, whose average age is close to thirty. Their work helps raise funds, which are then donated to the Institut Curie. And as with every year, the goal is to do even better than the last. One month, several events. Montrouge shopkeepers and restaurateurs showing solidarity Throughout the month of October, Montrouge's shops and restaurants take part in the pink movement, either by donating prizes for the raffle at the market on 4 October, or by taking part in the "1 purchase = 1 donation" initiative. For every purchase made, a portion of the amount will be donated to the association Le Papillon to support health prevention, screening awareness, support for patients and their loved ones, and cancer research. Charity sales at the Victor Hugo market Don't miss the charity sales organised by the association Le Papillon at the Victor Hugo market. Among the new items: the sale of a special Pink October edition shirt from RCM Rugby and the sale of flowers from the company EGS. Sunday 4 October - special raffle with prizes from participating traders Sunday 11, 18 & 25 October
