Jeanne Bloch was Prime Minister. Ten months in power, in a climate of acute political crisis. Five years later, an authoritarian regime has seized power. And Jeanne Bloch finds herself before a court, accused of having betrayed the people. In the courtroom, we attend her trial. Jeanne Bloch does not exist. The play is not set in a specific era. And yet everything sounds terribly familiar. At once a courtroom drama, a political thriller, and a contrasting portrait of a mysterious figure, Le Procès de Jeanne Bloch invents an imaginary "national story", woven through with historical references and contemporary reflections.
